WhatsApp Business Template Guidelines
Follow these rules to ensure your template complies with WhatsApp Business Template API requirements and gets approved.
Template Rules
- •Choose appropriate template type (Authentication, Marketing, Utility)
- •Provide clear, non-misleading content
- •Include examples for all variables used
- •Footer text limited to 60 characters
Button Rules
- •Maximum 10 buttons per template
- •Only 1 Copy Code button allowed
- •Only 1 Phone Number button allowed
- •Maximum 2 URL buttons allowed
- •Quick Reply buttons must be grouped together
- •Button text limited to 25 characters
Variable Rules
- •Use
{{variable}}format - •Provide examples for all variables used
- •URL buttons: max 1 variable at end of URL
- •Header & Body: unlimited variables allowed
Character Limits
- •Header Text: Unlimited
- •Body Text: Unlimited
- •Footer Text: 60 characters
- •Button Text: 25 characters
- •URL: 2000 characters
- •Copy Code: 15 characters
Important Note
Templates must comply with WhatsApp's Commerce Policy and be approved before use. Non-compliant templates may be rejected or suspended. Always test your templates thoroughly before submitting for approval.
